Description:

As a senior UI Designer, you have over 5 years of experience in creating the look and feel of interactive computers and product software :

You deliver pixel-perfect visual designs (UI) and specifications. This is based on wireframes briefed by user experience (UX) design colleagues.

You distil components from designs and describe them where necessary in our styleguide.

Most important: You’re used to use and manage a design system.

You will use our KDL Design System (a.k.a. KBC Design Language) when designing and you continuously contribute to the further evolution of this design system.

You test your own creations during the sprint deliveries of ICT and you feel responsible for a high-quality UX and UI delivery to our users.

When necessary, you think along about the most optimal way of working (process, tools,…).

So you work closely with your fellow UI and UX designers, but you also like to chat with a front-end developer, because after all, they take care of the final result of your creations.

A plus is experience with Motion Design and (subtle) animations (eg. AfterEffects, Lottie,…)

Detailed Job Description

As our UI Designer, you would have the following responsibilities:

Contribute to the look-and-feel of our apps and digital solutions.

Deliver an intuitive and visually appealing user experience for our users;

Work closely with UX designers and development teams to create user-centered designs;

Design for more than 2.2 million users, and for what Sia Partners has ranked as the best banking app in Belgium (2021–2024) and worldwide (2024);

Distill UI components from designs, document them when needed, and follow up on their implementation and testing.

Implement accessibility guidelines (WCAG) to ensure that all users, including those with disabilities, can easily use the app and perform their job-to-be-done;

Collaborate closely with fellow UI designers and use your technical knowledge to communicate effectively with front-end developers and tech leads. For example, in bi-weekly meetings with front-end tech leads, you’ll discuss the need for new or modified components across technologies (native, web, etc.).

Proficiency in Figma and similar design and prototype tools;

Experience in designing mobile applications;

Knowledge of accessibility standards, including contrast requirements, screen reader compatibility and keyboard navigation;

Familiarity with the Adobe Creative Suite tools (XD; Illustrator; Photoshop etc.);

Understanding of operating system-specific design guidelines, along with the creativity to help define a unified "KBC Design Language" used across both Native and Web platforms.
