Senior Engineer – Workspace, Device & Endpoint Management

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Engineer to lead the administration, security, and lifecycle management of our end-user technology ecosystem. This role focuses on Google Workspace administration, mobile and endpoint device management, and enterprise mobility management, ensuring secure and efficient operations across laptops, mobile devices, and collaboration systems.

The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Mobile Device Management (MDM), endpoint configuration and patching, device staging and provisioning, and enterprise collaboration tools. Experience with telephony and communication systems is a strong plus.

This role requires strong technical skills, automation capability, and the ability to design scalable systems that improve operational efficiency and user experience.

Key Responsibilities

Google Workspace Administration

  • Administer and maintain the Google Workspace environment including user provisioning, security policies, and application management.
  • Manage identity and access through organizational units, groups, and policies.
  • Configure and enforce security policies, including MFA, data loss prevention, and access restrictions.
  • Manage and troubleshoot core services such as:
    • Gmail
    • Google Drive
    • Google Meet
    • Google Chat
    • Calendar
  • Oversee Google Workspace endpoint management for corporate devices.
  • Implement and maintain device compliance and security policies within Google Workspace.
  • Manage integrations with external systems such as identity providers or collaboration tools.
  • Perform audit reviews, reporting, and monitoring for Workspace security and usage.

Endpoint & Device Management

  • Manage the full lifecycle of corporate devices including:
    • Procurement
    • Configuration
    • Staging
    • Deployment
    • Maintenance
    • Decommissioning
  • Maintain inventory and tracking of company-issued laptops, desktops, and mobile devices.
  • Design and implement automated provisioning workflows for new devices.
  • Ensure devices meet company security baseline configurations.
  • Provide technical guidance on device hardening and compliance standards.

Mobile Device Management (MDM)

  • Administer and maintain enterprise MDM platforms for smartphones, tablets, and other mobile endpoints.
  • Enroll, configure, and secure mobile devices using centralized management tools.
  • Implement and maintain policies for:
    • Device encryption
    • Remote wipe
    • Application control
    • Compliance enforcement
  • Manage BYOD and corporate-owned device policies.
  • Monitor device health, compliance, and security posture.
  • Troubleshoot MDM enrollment and policy issues.

Laptop & Endpoint Maintenance

  • Manage operating system updates and patch management across endpoints.
  • Deploy and maintain security patches and software updates.
  • Coordinate device patch cycles to minimize business disruption.
  • Maintain standardized laptop images and baseline configurations.
  • Ensure compatibility between OS updates, productivity tools, and internal systems.

Device Staging & Deployment

  • Prepare and stage devices for employee onboarding.
  • Install required software, security agents, and configuration profiles.
  • Automate onboarding workflows for new hires.
  • Ensure all devices meet IT security and compliance standards prior to deployment.

Telephony & Communication Systems (Plus)

  • Support enterprise telephony infrastructure including:
    • VoIP systems
    • Softphone platforms
    • Unified communication tools
  • Assist with telephony provisioning and user setup.
  • Troubleshoot voice communication issues and connectivity problems.
  • Integrate telephony systems with collaboration platforms where applicable.
  • Maintain documentation for telephony architecture and configurations.

Security & Compliance

  • Enforce endpoint security policies and compliance standards.
  • Work closely with the security team to implement endpoint protection and monitoring solutions.
  • Ensure devices comply with corporate and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with security incident response related to endpoints or mobile devices.

Automation & Process Improvement

  • Develop scripts and automation tools to improve IT operations.
  • Streamline device provisioning and configuration processes.
  • Automate repetitive administrative tasks related to device management and user onboarding.

Troubleshooting & Support

  • Provide advanced technical support for device and workspace-related issues.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex problems related to:
    • Endpoint devices
    • Google Workspace services
    • MDM platforms
    • Communication systems
  • Collaborate with internal teams to resolve cross-platform issues.

Documentation & Knowledge Sharing

  • Create and maintain documentation for systems, configurations, and procedures.
  • Document device lifecycle processes and operational workflows.
  • Contribute to internal knowledge bases and technical runbooks.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in endpoint management, IT systems engineering, or enterprise IT administration.
  • Strong experience administering Google Workspace environments.
  • Hands-on experience with Mobile Device Management (MDM) solutions.
  • Experience managing enterprise laptop and mobile device fleets.
  • Strong knowledge of endpoint security best practices.
  • Experience with patch management and OS lifecycle management.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage large-scale device deployments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Google Workspace endpoint management.
  • Experience with enterprise telephony or VoIP systems.
  • Familiarity with identity and access management systems.
  • Experience with automation or scripting (Bash, Python, or similar).
  • Knowledge of enterprise device compliance frameworks.
  • Experience integrating endpoint management with security monitoring systems.
