Interim Compliance Advisor – Financial Markets
1. Background
KBC Group Compliance is seeking an experienced interim Compliance Advisor to temporarily reinforce its Financial Markets Compliance team.
This engagement is required to ensure continuity of compliance advisory activities while permanent Compliance Advisors are being recruited.
The assignment will be situated within Group Compliance – Financial Markets Unit, which is responsible for investor and policyholder protection and the prevention of market abuse.
2. Objective of the Assignment
The objective is to provide short‑term, hands‑on compliance advisory support to the Financial Markets Compliance team, ensuring that regulatory obligations continue to be met in a consistent, high‑quality and pragmatic manner.
3. Scope of Services
The consultant is expected to deliver the following services:
- Provide compliance advice on financial markets regulation in the context of:
- Ongoing and new projects
- Ad‑hoc regulatory questions
- Formal product approval and governance processes
-Interpret European and national financial markets regulations and translate them into clear, practical internal guidance.
- Analyse and assess the impact of regulatory changes on financial market activities.
- Engage with business stakeholders to support pragmatic and proportionate implementation of regulatory requirements.
Throughout the assignment, the consultant is expected to consistently safeguard customer interests, in line with applicable conduct‑of‑business and market integrity requirements.
4. Required Profile
The proposed consultant should meet the following criteria:
- Master’s degree, preferably in Law or Economics.
- Demonstrated experience in financial markets compliance advisory roles, either within a financial institution or a professional services firm.
- Strong knowledge of relevant regulations, including: Markets in Financial Instruments Directive (MiFID), Market Abuse Regulation (MAR), Markets in Crypto‑Assets Regulation (MiCAR), European Crowdfunding Service Providers Regulation (ECSPR), Benchmark Regulation
- Solid understanding of investor protection, financial markets, and financial instruments.
- Ability to deliver clear, pragmatic and well‑reasoned advice in a complex regulatory environment.
- Excellent command of English (written and spoken).
5. Assignment Characteristics
