Senior System Design Engineer (Onshore)

📍 Mechelen, Belgium (Hybrid)

We are currently looking for a Senior System Design Engineer to join a leading organization in the financial services industry.

This role is ideal for someone with strong expertise in network infrastructure, security, and system design, combined with a proactive and analytical mindset.

Your Responsibilities

• Translate business and technical requirements into scalable system designs
• Evaluate design trade-offs and ensure optimal performance and reliability
• Validate and support deployment of infrastructure solutions
• Contribute to continuous improvement of systems, processes, and services
• Handle complex incident resolution and perform root cause analysis
• Ensure proper documentation and knowledge sharing
• Participate in on-call support when required

Your Profile

• 5+ years of experience in system engineering / IT infrastructure
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Proactive, structured, and result-driven mindset
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities

Technical Expertise

• Strong experience with network & security infrastructure
• Hands-on expertise with:
  • Fortinet technologies (FortiManager, FortiGate, etc.)
  • BGP, SD-WAN, IPsec VPNs
  • Advanced troubleshooting and debugging
• Experience with performance optimization and capacity management
• Familiarity with system design and infrastructure architecture
