The Data Business Analyst acts as the essential bridge between business stakeholders and the Data Engineering team . You ensure that data solutions — from reporting to advanced analytics — are functionally sound, well-tested, and aligned with the overarching data strategy.

Key responsibilities

Solution Design: Translate business needs into detailed data requirements, including data mapping, transformation logic and KPI definitions

›

Data Modelling: Collaborate with architects to design conceptual and logical data models that support business scalability

›

SQL Analysis: Profile source data, validate business rules and perform data quality assessments during the analysis phase

›

Documentation: Write BRDs and Functional Specifications that clearly define data lineage and warehouse integration

›

Problem Management: Lead root cause analysis for data discrepancies or pipeline failures to maintain high-quality data outputs

›

Testing & UAT: Define and execute test plans to ensure data in the warehouse accurately reflects business logic

›

Data Governance: Contribute to knowledge management by documenting data dictionaries and metadata

Profile & Languages

›

Bachelor or Master in management, economics, applied science or IT

›

Relevant experience in consulting or a similar operational BA role

›

Retail or service management background is a plus
