Service Description
As part of a growing international organization, Finance services are being transformed to support expanding global activities.
A new International Finance Pillar has been established to:
- Structure governance
- Harmonize processes
- Deliver scalable, high-quality financial services
As Head of Shared Services Center – Transformation Manager, you will:
- Lead the transformation of Finance operations
- Combine operational ownership with project leadership
- Build a robust and future-proof service delivery model
You will work closely with:
- Group Finance teams
- International affiliates
- External partners
Role Overview
The Head of SSC – Accounting & Tax is responsible for:
- Operational delivery
- Finance quality
- Accounting & Tax performance
The role acts as a Single Point of Contact (SPOC) between:
- Affiliates (local CFOs / controllers)
- Group Finance
- Internal SSC
- External BPO providers
Key transformation initiatives:
- Deployment of the Target Operating Model (TOM)
- Implementation of a hybrid Shared Services Center
- Migration to SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud (go-live planned: 01/01/2027)
Phase 1 (2026): Transformation and project-driven
Phase 2 (from 2027): Business-as-usual and SSC ownership
Key Responsibilities
A. Transformation & Project Leadership (Year 1 – 2026)
- Lead the Finance transformation program
- Implement the Target Operating Model and service delivery model
- Define governance (SLAs, KPIs, decision-making processes)
- Drive change management across affiliates
SAP Program Leadership:
- Act as Finance Project Manager / Business Lead
- Define roadmap, deliverables and planning
- Facilitate workshops (Accounting, Tax, IT, affiliates)
- Coordinate internal and external stakeholders
- Prepare the SSC organization (processes, roles, BPO model) ahead of go-live
B. Accounting & Tax Operational Ownership
- Own end-to-end Accounting & Tax operations (internal and outsourced)
- Ensure:
- Compliance with local GAAP and IFRS
- Audit readiness
- Financial data quality
- Compliance with tax obligations (direct and indirect taxes)
Act as Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for Finance operations towards affiliatesC. SSC & BPO Governance
- Lead and coordinate the internal SSC team (2 FTE General Ledger profiles)
- Oversee:
- Activity coordination
- Prioritization
- Capability development
Govern the centralized BPO model:- Provider selection and onboarding
- Contract and relationship management
- Monitoring SLAs, KPIs, costs and compliance
- Coordination with central BPO governance team
Promote a strong service culture focused on internal client satisfaction, transparency, and performanceD. Process Oversight (AP / AR / R2R / Tax)
Invoice-to-Pay:
- Process coordination
- Review and validation of outputs
- Handling of escalations (level 2)
- Performance monitoring and closing
Order-to-Cash:
- Coordination of O2C activities
- Review of cash collection
- Supervision of cash application and master data
Record-to-Report:
- Coordination of monthly closing
- Review of consolidation packages
- Oversight of intercompany, fixed assets, payroll and project accounting
- Filing of statutory accounts
Tax:
- Monitoring of tax compliance
- Support to projects and restructurings
- Validation of tax deliverables
- Coordination with international tax stakeholders
E. SAP Public Cloud & PSA
- Role evolving towards Finance Key User or manager of Finance Key Users
- Contribution to:
- Process design
- Master data
- Controls
- Reporting
- Project accounting
Requirements
- Good level of Dutch and/or French and English
- 10–15 years of experience in Finance, Accounting or Controlling in an international environment
- Proven experience in:
- Shared Services / BPO / outsourcing models
- Finance transformation
- ERP projects (SAP strongly preferred)
Strong accounting background with solid tax knowledgeSignificant international exposure (Middle East / Asia is a strong asset)Strong leadership and ability to operate in a matrix and multicultural environmentAdditional Information
- Location: Brussels
- Travel: approximately 10% (Europe, Middle East, Asia, US/Canada)
- Hybrid working model applicable
